Forget Airb’n’b, we’re talking Waterb’n’b

Living in Nice, it’s not uncommon to see the ultra-wealthy gallivanting on yachts and posing in slutty cut out bathing suits.

If you’ve always wanted to have your own yacht but just … can’t quite get there, financially … here’s a kickass solution that allows you to sunbathe at sea without having your bare flesh flashed across the gossip columns.

Let’s call it Waterb’n’b.

I was recently searching for an original weekend getaway idea within 2 hours drive from Nice and came across a fair few boat options on Airbnb. Having never booked a room on a boat, I was sceptical. Would it be comfortable? Relaxing? Would we be puking overboard when the wind picked up?

The boat in question was a 15-metre catamaran anchored just off the port of Bormes les Mimosas, one of the most beautiful, fresh-smelling villages in the Var near le Lavandou. The pictures on Airbnb were pretty nice, but the reality was out of this world.

If you enjoy waking up in the middle of a giant azure blue pool, taking your breakfast to the calming sound of seagulls and distant speed boats, and sunbathing on a vast, pristine white deck as you wave smugly at passing kayakers, you just might want to consider this. It was spacious, comfortable, surprisingly private and owned by the loveliest couple I’ve certainly ever been hosted by.

And I’m sure Rihanna pays more than 75€/night.
